me, looking at my life and choices: of course i'm going for this one first, i'm always booboo the fool for tormenting sayaka maizono
Ideas
- okay so that she's not a clone of Dorothea, Sayaka's actually a noble in this au!! an exceedingly minor noble, probably like, a future baroness or something of an exceedingly minor territory - she's the only child of the lord's territory, and while her father is out all of the time trying to establish connections, sayaka tends to be left alone with her studies and is...generally kind of a mess... - she insists that she's the true heir of the house, but the truth is that she's actually been adopted from a young age; the baron in question saw that sayaka had a crest when she was a homeless child, and basically took her in, in order to try and bolster his power - as a result, sayaka has a lot of expectations placed on her; she's supposed to represent such a minor house and everything she does is to try and get her house more power on her father's orders. she acts very kind and very gentle and polite to others, but the truth is that she's utterly cutthroat and willing to use people to get ahead in life. - ...she's probably also pretty reluctant though rather down with murder in this AU, she views it as a 'necessary evil' because her father has drilled it into her head that she's only been taken into this family in order to secure more power for her father. which causes her a lot of stress, because she's been used to her father criticizing her for every little thing she does and it's made her quite the mess emotionally. - i...haven't settled much else but considering her story, she probably comes from the Empire? my first thought was actually the Kingdom, but i can run with any territory for her. crest-wise, that's likewise up in the air; my ideas for her are Macuil, Indech, or maybe Timotheos. - likely specializes in bows/reason/faith, with a budding talent in swords and is extremely bad with axes/armored/riding - class progression (she bounces between classes): noble -> fighter/monk -> archer/mage -> assassin/sniper/warlock -> mortal savant (FUCK IT, GENDER-LOCKED CLASSES MEAN JACK SHIT IN AULAND)
● Mondo and his big bro Daiya are the sons of knights in the Kingdom. I haven't determined which family their parents served, but it doesn't matter much because things there were terrible!! Their parents were almost never around, and when they were, things tended to blow up in a big way. Basically it was an absolute mess and this is not how you raise kids. ● So Daiya took Mondo and ran, and along the way they picked up some other kids - usually orphans or other kids dealing with neglect and parental abuse, and they all ended up taking up refuge in a church for awhile. ● The older kids took up odd jobs around town and Daiya and Mondo helped train those who couldn't fight and eventually, this rag-tag group of dumbasses left the church and ended up becoming a band of mercenaries. Over time, they moved into Alliance territory. ● The gang also did a lot of odd jobs and together they saved up a ton of money... which Daiya insisted go to Mondo's education. The group agreed, since Mondo would take over after Daiya passed the gang off, and with Daiya talking about wanting to find a more stable job and position/quit fighting, it made sense to send Mondo. ● So naturally, Mondo started worrying he wasn't up to the task and asked Daiya for a duel to see if he could (finally) hold his own against his big bro. They did this at night, away from the rest of the gang, and with real weapons. Needless to say, this went really poorly. ● Mondo kind of accidentally landed a hit that rendered Daiya's sword arm useless; it would have healed up just fine with healing magic or enough treatment and time, but unfortunately... ● They were attacked by bandits that night, and in the chaos, Daiya was killed. Mondo blames himself for this, since he's the one who injured Daiya, and Daiya was easily the strongest member of their group. Still, they were able to kill the bandits and as far as the rest of the group knew, Daiya had been injured by them, so they didn't blame Mondo for what happened at all. ● He didn't tell them the truth, of course. They would never follow him if they knew. So he kept quiet, and eventually he headed off to Garreg Mach. ● I can go with any house for him, but I'm leaning Golden Deer or Blue Lions! Overall he's pretty much the same minus motorcycles, but he does actually like and support the church. He's not super religious, but the church does some good things, okay!! ● Specializes in: axe, brawl, riding?? Maybe authority if I'm feeling generous. ● Classes: commoner → fighter → brigand/brawler → warrior/grappler → war master. ● No crest, absolutely feels out of place here with all these nobles. Does he look like he has any idea how to talk to a noble?? Oh my god, he's gonna die.
- amaya is probably a foreign exchange student from some other far-off island that the empire claimed at some point; her family have adjusted to fodlan's lifestyle and culture perhaps surprisingly well since their arrival, and they saved up enough to send their daughter to the officer's academy - so, amaya is a commoner. no crest to speak of, no noble fuckery. on the surface, it seems like she's just a normal gal, if a rather cheery one. amaya is never usually seen without a smile on her face and kind words for absolutely everyone, even if she's a bit of a notorious spacecase. she's. honestly kind of dumb? but she means extremely well - of course, most of this is an act; amaya is actually an agarthian secretly sent to keep a far closer eye on edelgard than even she knows in this au. her parents are members of Those Who Slither in the Dark, and amaya is by proxy one of their number as well - a lot of amaya's sweetness is not exactly genuine, though she's extremely good at faking her kindness towards the humans she's supposed to hate. amaya intends to get close to people so that she knows the proper way to dispose of them, when given the orders to. - ...of course, therein lies the problem; while at first she's going to be very easily able to gain people's trust and liking without caring for them, as time goes on, amaya will honestly...kind of forget her mission in the first place. as the story goes on and things happen and she gets to know the others, amaya will likely face conflict of where her loyalties truly lie, and if she can really keep fighting for something she's not actually able to believe in - i don't foresee this ending well for her tbh, she's definitely going to reveal herself at least by in-game chapter 10 or so and leave everyone behind only to likely fight them again post-timeskip or something, but her heart definitely won't be in it - back to pre-timeskip though--as said, she is exceedingly flighty, rather excitable, very forgetful, and probably the academy's biggest spacecase. she tends to not watch where she's walking and has probably fallen into the fishing pond several times because she loses herself in thought. this is a very genuine aspect of her personality, she's just like that - it probably leads to her having some academic troubles, because she can certainly do her homework or something if she does it right after class, she...kind of does really poorly on any written tests or the like...and honestly dealing with any melee weapons too, she's got butterfingers real bad. the only thing she can reliably use are bows, and that's because they force her to focus - this leads into her specializing in bows/faith, while being atrocious with swords/lances/axes/authority (the lattermost being because. look at her. she's 5' and would probably forget any orders she issues until post-timeskip). authority would be her budding talent though, and something she'd utilize more post-timeskip - class progression: commoner -> monk -> priest -> bishop -> gremory
● Charlotte's basically just Dorothea. She's at the Officers Academy to find a future spouse to settle down with and secure a stable life. ● This would be much easier if she was actually as cute and kind as she acts. She definitely puts on a front because she believes that's what her future spouse will want to see! She kind of lowkey hates men for expecting that from women. ● Her parents own a small inn, and while they do enough business to keep them afloat, it was a rough childhood for her. She desperately wants to give them a better life so they don't have to work so hard, and the only way she can see to do that is to marry wealthy. So she's going to be every man's dream girl and it'll be great!! ● Charlotte's parents actually did save up enough to get her into the Officers Academy - which is partially why they were so poor when she was growing up - because they knew their daughter would stand a chance of making something of herself. Charlotte was always really strong, even as a little girl. ● But instead Charlotte spends most of her time buttering up men and trying really hard to win someone over enough to secure a better future for herself and her parents. Like Dorothea, she wants to marry for love and money, but unlike Dorothea, she feels she has nothing to rely on but her cutesy personality. ● She's very reluctant to do any fighting because she doesn't want anyone to know how brutishly strong she actually is. So naturally that's going to happen and her professor's going to shove her into classes that fit her strength, but shhh, it's fine, she can still be a delicate maiden off the battlefield!! (unsure) ● Strengths: sword, axe, brawl. She's got a budding talent in faith magic, but like. Her magic stat's garbage, don't do that. ● Classes: commoner → fighter → brigand/brawler → warrior/grappler → war master. Classes are now legally available for everyone, I don't make the rules. ● Crestless! I can go with any house for her, though I was thinking Golden Deer.
● Beruka's backstory is pretty much entirely unchanged - she was found at a young age by an assassin and trained by him to become the perfect killing machine. All of this was totally fine and not at all terrible, and it's definitely not like it fucked up her emotions or anything!! ● Except in this AU instead of killing him for a contract, he more or less shipped her off to work for someone else and they've since been like "you live like this???" ● So Beruka's actually going to the Officers Academy not to be trained, but rather to be socialized. Please learn a feeling, Beruka. Oh my god please, you're so creepy. ● That's pretty much it, this one's short. She's probably been taken in by a noble family, but I'm flexible on which one. I can go with any house, though for Black Eagles it'd almost make the most sense for her to be shoved off on House Vestra (please imagine Hubert trying to socialize Beruka, this is fucking hilarious). So the other two houses might work better. ● Regardless, she was trained to be loyal, but doesn't actually feel any genuine loyalty unlike with Camilla. She goes where the money is, because that's what she was taught. She is absolutely going to learn to feel things and it'll be terrible. ● Strengths: sword, axe, flying. Maybe bow or lances?? ● Classes: commoner → fighter → brigand → assassin/wyvern rider → wyvern lord. The only thing she actually likes are wyverns. ● She's also crestless! Once again, any house. I can make it work.
- Felicia is probably just a commoner who serves a noble house; Felicia has served with her twin sister for a very long time, for about as long as either of them remember, and her entire family line has been tasked with overseeing the noble family in question for years upon years. - Of course, the head butler of the house, Felicia's father, keeps track over their progress; he has trained them both in combat and in housework, and they oppose each other in interesting ways. Felicia is far better in a fight than she is at any housework, while Flora is far better at housework than fighting. - As a result of this, he's sent Felicia alone off to the Officer's Academy with the blessing of said noble family while keeping Flora behind. (the hypothetical noble may also be coming with her) It's resulted in Felicia's world essentially being tipped upside down as she tries to understand the world outside of all that she knows. - Felicia is a very curious, bright young woman! She's always here to lend a hand to those who need it, even if the results of said lending tend to...cause far more messes than Felicia may be able to clean up, but surely that's fine because she's incredibly earnest... - Felicia's father wants her to train to become a knight, but Felicia genuinely doesn't want to do that; she wants to hone her houseworking skills so that she doesn't have to fight, because while she's not necessarily a pacifist, she dislikes fighting quite a bit and prefers to avoid it. - Crestless; I can go for any house for her, but Black Eagles/Blue Lions are my primary thoughts. - Specializes in swords/reason/faith, atrocious with axes/authority. Her budding talent is in armored, weirdly enough! (she's. kind of a bad fit for an armored class though - Class Line: Commoner -> Monk -> Priest -> Bishop -> Gremory. (potentially the class's Dancer? oh god she's be tripping so bad tho)
- Deirdre was taken from her village at a very young age to be experimented on by Those Who Slither in the dark; back in her village, she was a generally avoided presence who had been adopted by her grandmother and given shelter and a job as a fortune teller, but people knew that she carried the Crest of the Beast (Maurice) within her. - Deirdre formerly had very dark purple hair and violet eyes, but they've both gone entirely white due to the experimentation. Deirdre spent many moons in the test facility before being essentially shoved into a noble family that works for Those Who Slither. - As a result of all of this, Deirdre is...kind of messed up! She was generally a rather shy child back in her village, but having her whole life upended from her has resulted in her repressing her memories extremely hard and forgetting the village she came from entirely. As far as she knows, she's been a member of a noble house for most of her life. - ...Of course, Deirdre's honestly very bad at being a noble, even if her new 'parents' have definitely tried to keep her down and mold her into the perfect wife for a potential suitor. But deep down, Deirdre is a rather kindly woman, though exceedingly shy to the point of not speaking up all that much. But she's a woman who's actions speak much louder than her words; she's kind to people, she helps them, she's willing to do just about anything for anyone who's kind to her, and she's got an incredible knack for magic that she loves to research and provide knowledge on to anyone who will listen. - Specializes in reason (dark magic)/faith/riding/flying; very poor at swords/axes/authority/armored. Budding talent in lances. - Major Crest of Lamine (implanted by those who Slither), minor Crest of the Beast. Comes from some sort of noble territory, but I'm here for her being a part of any house. - Class line: Noble -> Monk -> Pegasus Knight -> Wyvern Rider -> Falcon Knight.
