we need somewhere to put all of this shit!! (divided by 'verse, if a 'verse comment doesn't exist feel free to yell at me to make one/make one as needed!!)
✦ The leader of House Gloucester and Lorenz's father. Beauregard Edmund Gloucester is precisely what every noble should strive to be... or at least that's how he's been spinning it for Lorenz's entire life. ✦ House Gloucester has always been an important part of the Alliance, and over the years they've angled themselves to be sort of rivals with House Riegan. They cooperate, certainly, but House Gloucester is waiting for House Riegan to wane in power so they can take over as the most powerful family in the Alliance. ✦ Beauregard had hoped it would happen in his lifetime... but unfortunately he and House Riegan's heir were around the same age and attended the Officer's Academy together. House Riegan's heir was the leader of the Golden Deer, much to Beauregard's chagrin. Despite their differences, they came together to win the Battle of the Eagle and Lion and otherwise had a pretty good time. ✦ This is at least partially because Beauregard met his future wife at Garreg Mach. She was a minor noble from the Empire, and it was love at first sight. ✦ ...Okay, so it was love at first sight after she unseated him from his horse and very nearly beat him in the Battle of the Eagle and Lion, but the point is that they very quickly decided to be together forever after graduating. ✦ They were very young when they married, but it was a beneficial union for both families. Sure, it wasn't exactly a step up for House Gloucester, but Beauregard's father had died young and his mother encouraged him to follow his heart, so he went ahead with this anyway. ✦ While it isn't something he regrets, he does wishes he had waited and considered marrying someone who would have benefited House Gloucester more... ✦ Lorenz is their only child, and they have spoiled him terribly. Beauregard has certainly made sure his son is trained to handle the tasks of leading House Gloucester, along with leading the entire Alliance, since House Riegan seemed to have no heir. He was certain that Lorenz could finally push their house to be the most important within the Alliance... ✦ And then Claude von Riegan showed up out of nowhere. Beauregard was more mad about it than Lorenz, but he made no secret of this and more or less influenced Lorenz into believing that House Riegan is no longer fit to lead the Alliance and only House Gloucester can bring them to new heights. ✦ That's kind of a thing he always does, actually. He tends to play up his own importance and gloss over the more negative things. Beauregard is more cutthroat than he appears, and is willing to do all sorts of dreadful things if it means pushing his family further into power. As long as he personally doesn't have to get his hands dirty, he's fine with it. ✦ So he's more or less influenced Lorenz all along, though it hasn't all been intentional or trying to turn him against the other noble houses. He does love Lorenz and his family, he's just very political-minded and ambitious, regardless of what it costs everyone else around him. ✦ The Gloucester family is fairly large - Beauregard has plenty of uncles and aunts and siblings, which is where this whole mess with Camilla came from. When Camilla returned from House Krakenburg, Beauregard was very reluctant to take her in. She had nowhere else to go and only a letter from her mother, but Elaine insisted on allowing the poor girl to stay so he relented, but insisted she only remain on as a servant. He refuses to consider her family and constantly told Lorenz the same.
✦ Beauregard is a Dark Knight. He's pretty good on the battlefield, but rarely fights anymore. He's far more interested in politics than battle. ✦ ↑lances, ↑heavy armor, ↑authority | ↓brawling, ↓flying
Appearance: He's not exactly short, but he's nowhere near as tall as one would expect given Lorenz's height. He's very broad and surprisingly muscular for someone who doesn't care to fight, but it is important for a noble to keep up their appearance!! Beauregard has the Gloucester family's purple hair and eyes, though his hair is wavy and thick, and he sports a full beard and glorious mustache.
ELAINE
✦ The youngest daughter of a minor noble family within the Empire, Elaine was shipped off to the Officers Academy fairly young in the hopes that she'd find a suitable husband. Her combat prowess was of no concern to her family. ✦ So naturally, as soon as Elaine was out from their watchful eyes, she proceeded to do nothing but beat training dummies and classmates into the dirt. While she was never violent, her no-nonsense attitude and dedication to her training made her difficult to approach. ✦ During the Battle of the Eagle and Lion, she ended up going up against Beauregard. She managed to knock him off his horse, but he dragged her off her pegasus and managed to best her. It was amazing and she decided she'd marry him. ✦ They were wed not long after leaving the Officers Academy, which was a boon for her family. They were so pleased with the arrangement that they didn't even scold her for her continued insistence on fighting. She still handles conflicts in Gloucester territory when she can, because Elaine likes to throw down. ✦ Like Beauregard, she loves Lorenz. He's their only child and she pampers him endlessly. While Beauregard is the stricter parent, Elaine is a surprisingly good teacher. When Beauregard's lessons wouldn't stick, Lorenz would go to Elaine for help and she's managed to teach him well. ✦ She's aware of her husband's more unsavory practices, but as far as she's concerned, it's none of her business. While she is a member of House Gloucester, those sorts of dealings aren't hers to discuss or comment on, because her family trained her to be a good wife. (And also Beauregard lets her go beat up bandits, so it works out well.) ✦ Despite their differences and difficulties, she does love her family dearly. That's why she insisted on allowing Camilla to remain with the family, even though it isn't her place to get involved in Gloucester family politics. Beauregard has a hard time saying no to her, so that helps.
✦ Elaine is a Falcon Knight. She usually isn't required to fight, since she is a noblewoman, but she finds excuses to keep her skills sharp anyway. ✦ ↑swords, ↑lances, ↑flying | ↓brawling, ↓authority
Appearance: Elaine is very tall, she's absolutely where Lorenz gets his height from. Her hair is light brown and shoulder-length, occasionally kept tied back in a short ponytail. She's already starting to go gray, but she embraces it.
