anything for you; all of this is true (locked to [personal profile] darkbishop)

[Even with the initial reservations that Cadmus had about their son dating the heir to House Vestra, it would seem that time has proven them both wrong and right in a great many directions. Cadmus has seen the error of his ways and wariness, and has embraced his son's love with open arms. He's even grown to enjoy Hubert's company, all be told; Octavia could see it easily when the two got the chance to talk with one another, when she was busy showering her son with affection and care and all of the things her little sugarplum deserved in the world.

That isn't to say that Octavia would ever neglect her husband or Hubert himself, though! Oh, no, Octavia von Hevring was a force of nature, made of all of the love and affection that she believed the world should be showered in. She more than happily embraced Hubert as her sweet Linny's boyfriend, and as time has gone on, she's only grown more secure in the decision to trust that broody boy over the rumors that surrounded him. The rumors of his father's death at his own hands, which she had found utter hogwash at best and well deserved on the end of that boy's father at worst. It's so very clear in how closed off Hubert is that he's never experienced such love in his life, at least to Octavia, so more than anything she was glad when Cadmus came around.

Octavia's thoughts drift to those days as she sits outside of the Hevring manor, a sketchpad in hand as she anticipates Hubert's arrival. It's been quite some time since they saw each other last, and he seems to be coming alone this time. Cadmus had opened the letter easily and they both read it a week or so ago, before Octavia insisted that they send word of their approval "as soon as the morning dew should grace us with it's presence, and not a moment sooner!"--her words, of course. Cadmus was inside ensuring that the house maids and butlers were having everything prepared before Hubert's arrival, and Octavia had the simple job of greeting the boy she's been all too happy to watch her son fall for.

Not without a cup of her morning coffee, of course! A small clearing of the throat gets Octavia to look in the direction of the house's elderly head maid, Agatha, and her look brightens.]

Ah, Aggie! I hadn't even the fainted idea that you were here! I must have truly been lost in thought!

["It is no trouble, my lady. I have brought you your morning coffee; Lord Hubert should be arriving quite soon, so I thought it prudent to ensure that you were taken care of."]

Oh, Aggie, your sweetness as clear as day! Thank you very kindly.

[It's not like Octavia needs the caffeine boost; her energy is all natural, akin to that of a young adult even in her old age.]

I do hope Hubert will be here soon! I can't wait to welcome him in--is everything prepared for his arrival?

["Indeed; the finest coffee has been procured for your meeting together, and nary an ounce of sugar nor milk is in sight, save for Master Cadmus's tea. The guest room is prepared with the black sheets and bedding you procured from town days prior, should Lord Hubert wish to spend the night. Brunch is all prepared, with every item on the menu procured and prepared to perfection."

Octavia's hands clasp together, her expression brightening as her eyes close.]

As perfect as ever! Not that I would expect any less! Now, do be sure to take the rest of the day off once Lord Hubert has arrived and you have taken care of anything he needs brought to his room, won't you? You have earned that much, for your ever so delightful service!

[read: For putting up with the Hevring family's eccentricities for at least three generations.

"...As my lady wishes." Of course, the head maid bows easily, before the sound of horses in the distance signals the arrival of their guest of honor. "It would seem Lord Hubert is here--"

Octavia winds up at least putting her coffee cup down on the tea table in front of the estate before being off like a shot, her sketchbook flying out of her hands in the process and only being saved from the ground by the grace of the head maid's quick timing.

But of course, Hubert's likely not going to be by himself for long as he gets off--he'll likely be able to see a small woman of barely over five feet rushing towards him, long foresty green hair whipping behind her as deep blue eyes set their sights on the boy she's watched her son fall for, who she adores almost akin to family. She may be nearing fifty and certainly looking it, with her hair starting to gray and her face starting to wrinkle, but age hasn't taken her energy from her. Not even a long green dress and sunhat could hold her back from rushing up to greet him as far as she's concerned!!]

Hubert, Hubert! [Octavia rushes up to him easily, all too bold and brash as ever, with energy to spare as she laughs, pure and bright.] Ah, dear Hubert, it's been so long since we've seen you last! Please, tell me, are you faring well? Was your trip a peaceful one?! Oh, I do so hope it was! No less would be acceptable!

[...Let it be known that she shall never stop being Like This.]
