i can't believe i'm breaking this in with the literal worst au but here we are: the resident evil au absolutely no one asked for, but here it is anyway!!!
we all knew this was coming, time for some sweet ✨ MURDERGAME AUs ✨
● That absolutely amazing idea you had with Dorothea running the show and her attempts to revive the Black Eagles. She probably does this with Hubert (and possibly all the others) while Edelgard shakes her head in deadland. This entire thing sounds AMAZING and I would die for Dorothea wearing Edelgard's clothes/accessories and also Hubert's cape, what a diva.
● This could work for any character but memory loss murdergame with the characters starting pre-timeskip but their final memories are post-timeskip. C'MON THAT WOULD BE REALLY FUN TO PLAY AROUND WITH. If we want to voicetest some other characters, this could be fascinating, or we could just destroy ourselves by tossing Lin and Hubert from the psl into this hell and having them slowly remember everything!!
● Okay imagine this: FE3H murdergame. It's literally just the characters from 3H pit against each other in a murdergame. (Probably post-timeskip so people will actually kill lmao.) This could be all sorts of painful!!
● The usual: ONE OF OUR CHARACTERS KILLS THE OTHER, whether it's betrayal or the other decides they'll die to give the former a chance to escape, w/e! This would be amazing with Edelgard and Hubert but the thought of Lin and Hubert from the psl is slaying me, so definitely that one too!!
● Two people try to kill someone together, but it turns out only one of them got the killing blow, so they have to die and leave their friend behind!!! c: This could be fun to play around with post-death as well, for something like... notes back and forth from deadland or something, idk!

and here are some general ideas that are mostly based in canon!!
● Divine Pulse fuckery: basically a character (or maybe both of them) remember the events of the previous timeline (for some reason). They try to save their friends, it goes poorly. This could be HORRIBLE if we let Hubert remember, but went back to the beginning and had Lin join a different class/Byleth goes church route!!! Horrible. How could I ever suggest such a mean thing. Alternatively we could just write Byleth out and give the Divine Pulse to someone else/make up whatever we want!!
● House Swap: Basically move the characters around to be in other houses and see how that plays out! This could also be lord swapping or retainer swapping, or we can leave those the same and just mess around with anyone else - basically seeing where character dynamics go if everything's completely different!!
● EVERYONE LIVES: Find a way to make it so the war can be ended peacefully and everyone lives and how they deal with each other afterwards!! I don't really have any plot ideas for this one but LET THEM LIVE!!!
● Arranged Marriage: We have a group full of royals/nobles and where the fuck are my arranged marriages??? I live for two people who don't know each other/hate each other slowly growing to love each other, give me that shit!!! This could also be a good background for other ships, like one of them's supposed to be married to someone else but their true love!!!! You know me, I'm all about that sappy shit.
● More of a specific thing, but what if you could recruit the retainers/what if Hubert switches sides. I know this sounds completely impossible, but hear me out: Hubert will always do what's best for Edelgard, even if she wouldn't like it, so what if he ditches her because what's best for her is to have this war stopped/her spared? IT COULD WORK. This doesn't have to be Hubert/Edelgard or anything, it can be played out with anyone on one of the other routes but c'mon it'd be interesting!!
● On the topic of Edelgard/Hubert though, if you ever want to do a church route thing where all their friends abandoned them and they're struggling through this war (and losing) on their own I would so be here for it, goddamn.

● Royal-retainer swap?? Basically switching up the royals and retainers places, so we've got future emperor Hubert and that's terrifying. Who let that happen. This sounds like it'd be a lot of fun to explore with any pairing, so I'm definitely down for it however it goes and whoever it goes with!!
and these next ones are fire emblem: crosscanon bullshit
● Okay, so consider: shoving all the Fire Emblem worlds together into one and/or AUing everyone into the 3H world. Basically what I'm getting at here is exchange students. Let the other Fire Emblems come to the Officers Academy!! I'm especially fond of foreign princes/princesses hanging out with 3H characters (give me the forbidden Berkut cr) but we could do all sorts of things here! This doesn't necessarily just have to be Fire Emblems of course, but listen I love me some FEs.
● A proper AU and shoving characters into 3H's canon. So like... Camilla as the daughter of a terrible lord in the Empire and as a student in the Black Eagles house, how that would change her and how she'd be impacted by all of that/who she'd be in this world, etc! Exploring what kind of relationships people would have there would be a lot of fun!!
● Or we could go the opposite way and shove 3H characters into other Fire Emblems!! Who doesn't want a Fates AU, right??? (I just had the horrifying realization that Hubert and Iago are entirely too similar and that's terrible, please take this cursed knowledge from me.) Or an Awakening AU, or something else entirely!!
● If we're leaning more post-timeskip, we could mess around with deeprealms/outrealms! Maybe people from another world show up in 3H's world, or maybe the amiibo gazebo is a portal to another world or something don't ask questions. I kind of like the idea of some characters getting stranded in another world and trying to figure out how to get back, that could be fun to explore!
● The Fire Emblem jamjar no one but me asked for!! Basically just imagine a Fire Emblem dressing room-style setting and messing around with typical jamjar elements, that could be pretty cool! This one's really open ended but there's a lot we could do here!

● SOULMATES. Holy shit I love soulmates!! I kind of like the idea of "if you touch your soulmate's hand, you both get a pattern that matches (or represents the other person)" or something like that, but there are so many different and amazing soulmate AUs, so anything would be fun here! Characters that don't fit well together being soulmates and having to deal with that, characters who love each other but are hesitant to see if they're actually soulmates... Playing with the idea that the nobility marries not for love but for power/position/money/etc and so they always wear gloves so as not to find their soulmates... shit like that!! I am so here to build our own soulmate AU for any pairing!!
● Soulmates v2: no soul??? Every time you see the soulmates trope, it's the ship characters being soulmates. Well what if we reverse that - the characters we're shipping aren't soulmates and they're trying to make it in this world where their "real" partner is out there somewhere?? There could be all sorts of drama with this, it could be a lot of fun! (Bonus points for playing the other characters' soulmates?? So like if you're A and I'm B, then you'd play B's soulmate and I'd play A's, though that's obviously not necessary and they can be NPC'd if you're down for that!!)
● Soulmates v3: now it's enemies to lovers. LISTEN... I LOVE THIS TROPE... and dealing with the pressure of "oh you're soulmates, you must love each other!" while they DON'T is just really fucking funny, this would be so dumb. I am absolutely here for it going romantic eventually or just playing around with it being Stupid.
● Hanahaki Disease! You know, that thing where a person coughs up flower petals because of unrequited love. You can either have that removed (along with the feelings) because idk magic, or you can just fuckin die, either are great options!! Or you could confess your feelings and maybe that'd help or something w/e. Anyway, I love this stupid trope and think it could be fun to play around with for a shorter thread, but also consider the following: Claude watching Lorenz hack up flower petals being like "I didn't realize you were eating your roses lmao" and Lorenz just fucking decks him. It'd be perfect. I do not accept criticism on my shitposts.
● Fake dating! Goddamn do I love this trope too. I think we could probably set this up with a noble character trying to escape an arranged marriage or their parents trying to arrange one or something! Basically two characters agree to "date" for whatever reason and then in time end up finding feelings. Kiiinda what we're doing with Dorothea and Hubert already but like, More. Gimme this shit, I am so here for it.
● Other canon AUs! Did I already mention this one... I don't remember. But things like Pokemon AUs or putting the characters in a completely different setting is always fun!! I feel like I'm missing something obvious other than Pokemon but w/e!!
● Role reversal! So I talked about role swap and swapping houses and stuff, but a full on reversal of roles could be really interesting! I guess maybe "background swap" would be more accurate maybe?? Idk basically let other characters get experimented on by Those That Slither, okay. I'm always here for that sweet, sweet h/c.
● End of war scenarios. Okay, so for something more serious, basically post-game on any route where characters are dealing with the aftermath and trying to sort themselves out. This could be two characters in the same house/on the same route or it could be like... an AU end where we spared someone and dealing with that. I am so here for working out things like that, it could be really fun to see where everyone goes!!

● That soulmates idea for Lin/Hubert where it's a more normal world and they've gotta like. actually get along with each other's families...... Give me more Octavia and Cadmus!!!
● FUCK THE CHURCH AND FUCK IN THE CHURCH (I was going to leave this without context but I'll probably forget, so: Edelgard/Felix fucking in the Goddess Tower because they are out of fucks to give. Except for each other, I guess. Okay listen the whole point is they are totally fine fucking in the church, it's fine!!!)
● Edelgard/Hubert using fucking as an alibi. What do you mean they're planning something terrible??? Nah, they were just fucking, don't worry about it. (They were probably actually fucking as well.)
● Hubert and Linhardt are engaged to be married as kids because ??? reasons. Anyway, the Hevrings and the Vestras attempt to work around this and deal with one another. This is a struggle all around, but at least Octavia and Isolde are getting along!!
POKÉMON AUS!!!!! ● Lin and Hubert are researchers who occasionally work together but are mostly competitive. Depending on timeframe, they might be traveling with their dumbass trainer buddies who keep getting into battles when all they want to do is study!!!
● Galar-style gym leaders!! Gym battles are a Huge Deal and many noble families own a gym so the kids are more or less expected to be a gym leader and deal with that. Basically specializing in types and dealing with fame and expectations and all that fun stuff!!
● Edelgard leads Team... Flame?? That's a terrible name. Anyway, she leads an evil team and is trying to overthrow idk the Pokémon League led by Rhea or something. This would probably be more Pokémon Special style, so like More Intense Pokémon Battles.
● Please consider everyone as a coordinator and competing in over-the-top Pokémon pageants. I'm dying just imagining it. But also for a less disastrous idea: Lorenz teaching Marianne how to compete in these competitions because idk her step-dad's pushing her into it or something, that'd be cute...
● Crossovers!! Maybe not with Pokémon characters, but it'd be fun to see how different characters mesh in a more chill setting!! Either AU or like... jamjar or something, whatever works!!
● Speaking of, Pokémon jamjar!! Let them get fuzz therapy... We could stick to something like gameverse just with minimal plot (or introducing plot as needed) or we could go like Pokédressing and make up our own locations and stuff! Or we could even go Pokémon Special's route and play around with More Intense Pokémon Training. Who knows!!
● Holy Grail War AU!! Obviously I don't know everything about Fate/ so making shit up is perfectly fine by me!! (Fate/ makes shit up anyway.) We could mess around with reincarnation or something as well - basically the character who is summoned as the Servant recognizes the Master. Or we could go full AU with it!! Who knows. Altering it into something less war-focused also works if we want to mess around with slice of life shit sometimes as well! Something like this could also be interesting for a jamjar, if we want both characters to be Servants. Or they could be Masters I guess, w/e!!
● Etrian Odyssey AU!! This could be an AU or a jamjar, I kind of like the idea of "get to the end of the labyrinth and you can go home!!" for a jamjar, but AU definitely works too! Listen, I love assigning characters classes, okay. And Etrian Odyssey's real fun. I'm not super familiar with any game enough to draw entirely on that, but I don't mind wiki-ing it if needed! Or we could just make up our own stuff, that's always fun too!
● THIS AU!! Somehow I'd never considered an AU like this before, but holy shit, let's let Hubert get experimented on by Those Who Slither, that's Good Shit™. This can absolutely be with anyone, it doesn't have to be Edelgard! We can go all out with this and include roleswapping, or we could have this come up as part of a story so he could be experimented on later instead of as a kid, whatever works!!
● Other characters being experimented on works too!! I would absolutely love to see how other characters deal with this as well, I LOVE IT...
● Those Who Slither in the Dark AU?? Basically AU a character to be a member of TWSitD and have them pretend to be a totally normal student. Maybe they've been sent in by TWSitD to keep an eye on Edelgard and Hubert, or maybe there's some other reason why they're hanging out at the Officers Academy (or during the timeskip). I really love the idea of a Slitherer turning against the group or something!!
● Have someone be replaced by a Slitherer. I feel like this might be better for a fic, but basically having the other character notice something is off about their friend and then lmao whoops, turns out they weren't your friend this whole time!! Idk, I feel like there's potential here.
● TIMELOOPS!! I think I mentioned this somewhere before but it's worth mentioning again. Gotta get that golden end somehow...
● Reincarnation stuff?? This might have been mentioned before too but shh. Something like Xander and Felicia from the Birthright timeline being reborn in 3H and regaining memories of their past life or something?? Or messing around with different timelines in 3H or AUing them into other FEs/series or something!!
● That absolutely horrible idea where Edelgard dies in battle and the Black Eagles have to pretend she's not really dead and carry on the war to make her dream a reality. Dorothea feeling like she has no choice but to dress up as Edelgard and pretend to be here all while being fucked up that no one cares that "Dorothea" is missing!! Good shit. Dorothea doesn't deserve but it sure does sound fascinating!!!
● Creststone fuckery!! In which a crestless person can absorb a creststone to gain that crest or some bullshit like that. It probably comes with a whole host of horrible side effects, and maybe don't try to shove two of them in at the same time, that would probably kill you??? This plays into the idea above with Dorothea attempting to make herself more like Edelgard, etc. But we could probably mess around with this on its own too!!
● Crestswap!!! So what if the world valued crestless people more than those with crests?? Or what if characters just swapped crests/skills/roles, etc. Exploring a world that places more value on those without crests could be cool, maybe crests are like....... considered cursed or something?? (Crest of the Beast is the one acceptable crest!!!!)
● Edelich AU!!!! Okay so hear me out: Azure Moon but Edelgard somehow wins except now she's stuck in her Hegemon Husk form!! Or maybe she can switch between or something, she reverts back to normal after she's beaten but w/e it's an AU, we do what we want. Anyway just messing around with the idea that she's absolutely gone and fucked herself up in pursuit of her goals, I LIKE THAT SHIT. Also let Hubert live to deal with this, I'm sure that'll go well!!!! But really, Edelgard/anyone here would be really fascinating??

- Edelgard/Yuri: spy AU edition. maybe edelgard sneaks her way down into abyss a fair bit because there's Information to be grabbed there, and yuri and she strike up a sort of rapport and allyship (and maybe actual ship) along the way while being partners in crime.
- Constance/Hubert: okay this is ultra cursed, but please consider Empress Constance AU. Hubert having to be the one sane person in dealing with Constance almost constantly and trying to keep her out of trouble while also being the one to deal with her experimental shenanigans often. goddess have mercy on hubie
- Constance/Balthus: okay but what IF she couldn't restore her family's name and actually took up balthus's offer to just be a bunch of vagabonds. (...this might just be essentially their ending in non-crimson flower routes but Listen, it seems like a stupid and fun idea)
- Hapi/Hubert: i don't have any specific ideas here but like, i'm very here to watch these two be stupid as fuck. i'm honestly hella tempted to see what a soulmate AU with these two would be like, because they would both have a lot of things to talk about re: fuck the church and anyone aligned with the church tbh
- Constance/Caspar: i don't even know how this would work but LISTEN maybe she learns how to punch from caspar and also unintentionally uses him as a guinea pig in several very stupid experiments. i almost wanna say like...hanahaki au here, but without the fear of death??? just. non-fatal hanahaki because constance is very stupid and has no idea how to acknowledge her Complicated Feelings towards caspar, or just them both being very stupid and having to deal with this

● Vampire AU: A really common AU is the "Edelgard is secretly a vampire as a result of TWSitD's experiments" so like, that. Although it doesn't necessarily have to be Edelgard or connected to TWSitD, I'm just here for vampires. We can go full AU with it or we can just go "A is a vampire trying to hide it, B finds out" or something!!
● Okay so I was mostly joking about how we can ship anything, but please consider this: we make a list of the characters we'd be down with shipping then rng it to see what horrible pairing we're dealing with. Please think about this, Sable. It'd be so dumb. I'm crying just considering it.
● Give me the forbidden Berkut in 3H AU!!!!! I may be saying this because I want to ship with Berkut. But also: he's a trashfire and I want to see how being in a different setting changes him. Will he still be able to be the shittiest person in the game????
● Silver Snow Linhardt. He's so tired, he just wants to sleep and not be involved in this stupid war!! Murdergame AU where he's from this timeline and Hubert's from Crimson Flower and then whoops Linhardt does a murder and they have to deal with this in deadland.
● Orrrr Silver Snow Linhardt, in which Caspar drags him on adventures for five years after he ditches Hevring. He's so tired, let him sleep.
● Silver Snow Linhardt v3: in which Linhardt stays in Hevring for awhile and then Hubert kills Lin's mom to keep him in line and well, time for Linhardt to ditch!! He could possibly be dealing with this with Yuri, though Lorenz is more likely since my voice for him is stronger. Please imagine them having only a c-rank conversation prior to this but then actually coming to understand one another better since their situations are very different, but they've both dealt with Some Shit thanks to the Empire!!
● Variation on the above with Linhardt on Azure Moon and dealing with this with Dimitri. We'd probably have to AU Azure Moon a bit because the way it's laid out is........ not great, but!! That could be interesting!
so what if we did jeritza/metodey where it's just like. yuri/zagi dynamic all the way. metodey just pops out of places and they develop some kind of bloody rivalry where it's either like. jeritza takes one look at this and looks deep inside himself and goes "am. am i like that. what the fuck" while fighting off this insane gremlin man, or the other way around where jeritza/the death knight's the shitty gremlin who wants to fight and metodey can never know peace. or both? mutual desire to stab each other.

● Roleswaps!! I think I mentioned this before, but I'm gonna ramble about them again anyway. Please imagine imperial prince Linhardt who wants nothing more than to nap but he keeps being pestered by his retainer, Caspar. Emperor Hubert trying very hard to get Linhardt to stop falling asleep during meetings because Linhardt's out all night murdering people for him. Okay no, that one wouldn't happen. But you get what I mean!! We could also cross the streams and shove people in different houses and explore those dynamics, that could be fun too. Future emperor Yuri is a thing I didn't realize I wanted until this moment, lmao.
● Emperor Linhardt v2: Okay, so I love the idea of Emperor Lin, so here's more of that!! This version is the one where the Hresvelgs all died (Those Who Slither fucked up their experiments too much, whoops) and so the next closest in line is the one who gets the throne. Duke Aegir totally thinks it's him or Ferdinand, but uh. Turns out it's Linhardt of all goddamn people. So Linhardt is shipped off to Enbarr to learn how to be the next emperor!! I was thinking of this setup with Lin as a kid and his parents are busy taking care of Hevring/dealing with Duke Aegir, so Lin more or less has to rely on Hubert as his retainer/support but we can absolutely mess around with other ideas! Please imagine Lin and Caspar meeting up eventually after years of not seeing each other...
● Emperor Linhardt v3: The Hevrings are the royal family in this one and the Hresvelgs are rivals with the Bergliez family. Linhardt really doesn't want to be emperor, so at some point he just. ditches. Probably after spending time at the Officers Academy or at the tail end of it, so he doesn't even graduate... Anyway, he's used to being treated like a prince, so roughing it is not exactly his idea of a good time, but now he's free to do what he wants and research what he wants and nap when he wants!! He could drag Hubert along with him or he could go off on adventures with someone else while Hubert takes over the Empire in the background (likely with Edelgard or someone else) but that's not Linhardt's problem now!! (Lin, no.)
● More Jeritza ships!!!! In particular I'm thinking about Jeritza/Yuri and Jeritza/Felix and boy do those sound hilarious and terrible. Please also consider Jeritza doing his best to be an actual teacher... it goes Poorly but somehow Felix has decided he's his favorite teacher. Alternatively: Jeritza is put in charge of the Ashen Wolves. Terrible. Jeritza/Kronya would be terrible too and I'm losing it at the idea of crosscanon Jeritza ships as well........ I love this terrible man.
● I want to do some kind of stupid angsty meetup years later thing!! Like two characters get together during their time at the monastery, but can't be together for ~reasons~. So they agree to break up and then either the war breaks out or we golden end au where there is no war (somehow) and they still have to separate. Flash forward to years later when they meet up again and oh no, turns out they still have feelings!!!!! What will they do!!!!!! I'm also down for drama like "one of them is engaged to someone else in an arranged marriage" or something. Basically give me all the delicious drama and pining and stupid shit. It'd be the four year timeskip all over again except this time it's intentional and also less dumb (probably)!
✨ GOLDEN END AU ✨ Okay, so this one is not by me, but it's got some fun concepts I think we could explore! Here's the full link but it's a lot of text and tbh I didn't even read the full thing. So here's the abridged version that I think works better!
So the basics: ● Those Who Slither step up as villains early. They basically blame everything (including the Flame Emperor) on Edelgard and more or less strip her of any and all power. She's still at the monastery so that the Church can keep an eye on her. (Hubert's here too, I guess!!!) Her dad is executed and what little power the Hresvelgs had left is stolen, Duke Aegir's essentially in charge, with the other nobles (Hevring, Bergliez, Vestra, Varley, etc) all supporting him and ditching Edelgard.
● Dimitri confronts Edelgard about the Flame Emperor and her role in the Tragedy of Duscur. She tells him the truth about everything, and reveals what she knows about Those Who Slither and the Church. Dimitri wants to believe her, but he's definitely keeping an eye on her.
● The Empire is still involved in invading the Holy Tomb, but it's obviously Those Who Slither commanding them. Rhea's pissed and blames Edelgard for this, calling for her execution. Edelgard's also pissed and comes out with all her accusations against Rhea, revealing everything she knows about her. Claude backs her up, demanding to know the truths that Rhea's been keeping hidden. Dimitri likewise wants answers for what Edelgard's told him about Those Who Slither. Rhea doesn't care about these accusations, but Byleth refuses to kill Edelgard and instead demands answers for who/what they are from Rhea as well.
● So while Rhea hates Edelgard and Edelgard hates Rhea, they basically decide that Those Who Slither are the bigger threat here and everyone agrees to work together. Those Who Slither have already managed to pull together the Empire's army and invade Garreg Mach, which results in Byleth falling off the cliff and the timeskip.
● Five years later, Edelgard and the Black Eagles have been on the run. They've been trying to put up resistance to Those Who Slither, but ultimately they can't do much on their own. Dimitri's gone feral and wants Arundel/Thales dead and the rest of the Blue Lions are trying to keep Cornelia from taking over Faerghus. The Golden Deer are dealing with fractures within the Alliance and trying to keep things stable and prevent the Empire from taking over. The members of the Church are searching for Rhea, who went missing during the battle five years ago (and is being held captive by Those Who Slither in Enbarr).
● They all meet up on the day of the Millennium Festival, some by chance and others on purpose, and Byleth is here now so Byleth more or less serves as the glue holding these different groups together. They don't really trust each other, but they all agree that the biggest threat is still Those Who Slither, so they're willing to work together. It's basically "they all team up to punch Those Who Slither a lot" but hey, it works!!
● Obviously this setup is perfect for cross-house interactions that wouldn't otherwise be present/super easy to set up! So pick two characters and figure out how they're dealing with all of this/what they're doing during the timeskip, etc. A lot of the non-nobles (or less important nobles) can easily be hanging out with the Black Eagles on the run, or maybe the Black Eagles take shelter with someone in the Alliance/Kingdom for a time? The possibilities are endless!!
● I personally love the idea of the Black Eagles on the run, so exploring their relationships as this goes on could be great! They could even separate into smaller groups so it's easier for them to move/not be caught by Those Who Slither. Perhaps some of them go into hiding and live in the Alliance/Kingdom for awhile under assumed names or something! (Obviously that doesn't work for all of them, though.)
● There's a lot of fun stuff to play out here with the house leaders, either with each other or with students from other houses, etc!! How do Yuri and the Ashen Wolves fit in here?? There's a lot we can mess around with!
● A lot of this has been focused on post-timeskip (or during the timeskip) and that's super fun! But I'm also so fascinated with Edelgard during pre-timeskip in this AU, so it could be fun to mess around with her there too!
● The actual Golden End... in which everyone lives and things are kinda sorta chill between all three territories and the Church... Good stuff. I'm always here for a good ending like that!! But obviously we can find some more drama to include because that's fun too lmao.
This is just an idea of course, and I'm 100% here to change things about it to make things work better for whatever we need! But man, this is a pretty good way to create a golden end and I had to share it!!

● Lif/Hubert. Literally anything involving these two or Alfonse/Hubert - the idea that the post-timeskip and skellyjelly versions meeting up and actually having to discuss shit and deal with it is A++ but I'm also a sucker for them being cute and having a slowly-developing relationship... Maybe the younger versions are doing that in the background while post-timeskip Hubert and Lif are over there like "what the fuck".
● So we've got plenty of ideas in FEH, but what if we do the opposite and drag characters into the other Fire Emblems somehow. Fates has the deeprealms, Awakening has the outrealms, and Three Houses..... has that weird amiibo gazebo clearly that's the same thing??? Basically just yeet some other Fire Emblems into these worlds and see how that goes, I'm sure that'll be fine (no).
● Aela is not a Fire Emblem, but consider her being summoned to Askr and either fighting against Lif, or idk being summoned in on his side somehow. Werewolf skellyjelly-- no. Maybe they slowly regain their memories of murdergame or something??
● Okay this one's a little more involved, but hear me out. Linhardt is basically told by (idk Caspar??) someone he's close to that he doesn't "understand" love and he's not going to, and this essentially ends in them betting that Linhardt can't make someone fall in love with him in [x amount of time]. Linhardt takes the challenge for whatever reason. This results in him trying learn from various couples and talking to people about love aaaaand ultimately realizing that there's no way he's going to manage all the research he needs done AND end up with a date by the time limit. So he does the next best thing: he takes the lazy way out. He convinces someone else to "date" him and thus starts the stupidest fake dating ever, complete with Linhardt's "research" results and his "partner's" own lack of knowledge. It goes stupidly. Maybe romance falls out somehow?? I was imagining this set in Askr, but pre- or post-timeskip works too!!

● Sothis is the protag of 3H: Okay, so we briefly discussed this one, but instead of Byleth, we've got Sothis in their place. I'm not entirely sure how this happens, but I love the idea of Jeralt finding amnesiac Sothis and just kinda-sorta adopting her which leads into canon as normal. Rhea takes her on as a teacher because green hair?? Pointy ears??? That's Weird. She's totally not one of us though??? So Rhea is suspicious, Sothis is regaining her memories and also teaching one of the classes and this is just a disaster waiting to happen. I'd be down for flinging anyone at her here, I don't have anything specific in mind beyond that!
● Jeritza/Byleth: I figure we could take either side of this (or swap, since I think you mentioned you might consider Byleth too?) but basically just going wild with these two either in canon/Crimson Flower end or just making shit up as we go. Murdergame AU? Jamjar AU? Who knows!!!
● We have a bunch of absolutely shitty people who really love violence so... Peri/Zagi, Peri/Jeritza, Jeritza/Zagi, toss Metodey and Kronya somewhere in there.... there are undoubtedly others........ Disaster ships is what I'm saying. Just yeet some goddamn disasters out there and see what happens.
● Oh yeah also if you're ever down to try out Peri/Laslow I'd be down to pick him up and give that a shot? They cute.
● Operation: Get Cordelia A Nice Partner Who Isn't Chrom. Your Cordelia was really fun, so if you're ever looking to take her out for a spin again I'm always down to work something out! If I get around to reviewing Awakening again, I can see who I want to play there, but crosscanon definitely works as well, of course!
● And speaking of crosscanon: we should definitely rng up some more ships to see if we end up with anything less (more?) cursed!!
Been awhile since I last used this post, huh... Anyway! Metal/Sonic ideas because I Cannot Be Stopped:
● We've got the built-in amnesia prompt with Eggman taking control of Neo again, so like. That. Sonic having to deal with his dumb robot reverting back to his original self (minus his 9000 issues) and trying to get him to remember... but also consider: Sonic managing to forget. I love a good amnesia plot.
● I'd love to fuck around with different timelines in some way, whether that's SA2!Sonic + Heroes!Neo or something wildly different! Please do not feel like you need to watch any other Sonic games, it's not worth it. (I say, having watched several out of morbid curiosity.)
● I like the idea of Sonic and Metal sharing a mental/emotional connection like the "event" we did in our thread and seeing how that changes their relationship! I am a simple woman, I like making Metal feel things. c:
● SA2 But Metal Sonic Is Here. What is he doing? Idk we can figure that out together. I just love the SA2 story and setting and want to put my boy there, sue me.
● For whatever reason, Sonic and Metal need to work together. This could be an rp game setting, some sort of Heroes AU where they have to team up against Eggman, or we could borrow from some of those Sonic games no one cares about and steal their ideas. I could probably come up with something that's somewhat canon-compliant!! Sonic introduced time travel, they don't get to try to make their stories make sense. (I actually like the Metal Virus arc of the IDW comics for this? Sonic's literally on the verge of dying and Metal saves his ass so like :thumbs up:!)
● Murdergame. That's it, shove them in a murdergame and see how it goes. Surely nothing bad can happen here!!

● Sonic's gotta explain his bf to his friends. Whether this is after they've returned home or having his friends show up in "game", I just love the idea of Sonic trying to explain this. "Sometimes these things just happen, okay. Normal rivalries, right??"
● Someone's gotta get seriously injured again because I mean. It's great for h/c. We Gotta. We already set up the potential of dying and coming back which could be VERY fun, so!! Does Sonic even know you come back after you die... Neo never told him...
● I like the idea of a post-"game" setting where they have to settle back into their lives at home, they aren't exactly going to be able to move in together like everything's a-okay given... Neo Metal Sonic and Eggman existing, lmao.
● Likewise, one of them returning home before the other could be fun to play with for a bit, especially if combined with the death mentioned above... c:
● I'm not really sure what to do with it, but Neo still has his shapeshifting abilities and I feel like that could be fun to play with somehow?? He greatly prefers to be himself which is why he doesn't use them often, but like. We could do Something there. Somehow.
● What if they raised a Chao together. Wouldn't that be dumb.
● Dumb event ideas!! Things like body swap could be interesting, given how vastly differently they both operate but also: that might just sort of fuck them up. Do we really want to give Neo ANOTHER crisis? (Yes.) But I'd be glad to steal any sort of memes/events to play around with for this!
● We could take the memloss or different canon points things and mess with them here as well as part of events; I'm kind of charmed by the idea of a bad end Heroes AU where Neo won dealing with his long-dead rival again and realizing "oh, actually I miss having him to compete against" lmao.

● 3H AU: Okay please consider the opposite of the above. Alear is a Nabatean/Divine Dragon (whatever we'd like to call them in this psl) and/or possibly a Fell Dragon if you'd like. Regardless, she took a 1000 year nap, woke up without her memories, and was immediately taken in by Seteth and Rhea going OHHHHHH GOD WHERE DID SHE COME FROM, WHY IS SHE HERE, WE GOTTA LOOK OUT FOR HER. Or they can actually know her and/or use her in Rhea's case, whatever sort of bg you'd like to play with! Regardless, she attends Garreg Mach as a student! Meanwhile, Agarthan Griss is placed into the Monastery in order to assist in Zephia's plans. She's serving as an instructor and like Solon, hides her appearance with magic to better blend in. She's probably still a Mage Dragon, whatever the fuck those are. Alternatively, Griss could be from a timeline where Zephia died and he was basically pawned off by Thales to Hubert's dad for whatever reason... only for Hubert's dad to go "absolutely not" and hand him over to Hubert as one of Hubert's few dedicated men. The idea of Hubert being forced to deal with Griss is very funny, okay.
Either way! Exploring the conflict through the lens of "my family was destroyed by you guys and the only living ones I have left greatly fear/hate you" and whatever the FUCK the Agarthans are doing at any given moment (lbr in this au they're reviving the Fell Dragon, Sombron) would be interesting to play with! But we could take this any number of ways - I just like the idea of both of them hiding who they truly are from one another (badly). Everyone else watching them like (unsure).
bats eyelashes. so hear me out: shardbond AU where it's neo that finds dorothy during her week 3 runawayfest. idk what the fuck would happen, but like. the idea of this absolute mess of robots commiserating is sending me along with potentially an arc about getting them to stand down--
and the alternate before i forget to put this down: PSL au where dorothy herself tries to destroy ellipsa, and neo is the one who reaches out to her. or at least tries to.
I've been thinking a lot about soulmate AUs, so...
● Jamjar style. Characters are brought into whatever kind of setting we want and are revealed to be able to find their soulmate here. Chaos ensues. We could absolutely play this straight by slapping any two characters together and dealing with the fallout (characters from the same canon who shouldn't/can't be soulmates, characters who hate each other, characters who were in love but wouldn't express it, etc) or we could go with the idea that characters just straight up reject their soulmate and end up with someone else, etc. A jamjar could add some interesting dynamics to characters from the same canon, or could just be a good background for characters from a different one. Other things to consider: it's a dating gameshow thing where the goal is to find your soulmate and then you win, etc!!
● Enemies/rivals-to-soulmates. Characters who strongly dislike/hate each other end up being revealed as soulmates. Whoops?? How the hell did fate/whatever manage to get this so wrong?? Once again, playing it straight or just having it a hurdle to overcome is fun, but you know I love some enemies-to-lovers.
● The world/society really loves soulmates. In fact, they love them so much that it's considered taboo to not end up with your soulmate, regardless of how compatible the two of you really are. Cue shenanigans that happen in response to some really weird/bad/stupid matchups. I'll admit I was specifically thinking 3H with this one because of how damn funny this would be coupled with the huge emphasis on Crests and nobility and the like and how that would play into various characters' relationships. Another thing to consider: characters who are soulmates need to IMMEDIATELY get married. Kind of like a horrible mashup between "waking up married" and "arranged marriage" and ultimately ends in stupidity.
● For whatever reason, characters A and B are faking that they're soulmates. They have absolutely everyone fooled believing this. Character C then ends up accidentally finding out that they're B's soulmate. Cue C freaking out about this/wondering how the hell this is possible while B is just like really. I was imagining Hubert and Edelgard for pretending to be soulmates (so as to keep people from trying to mess with their plans/determining if they're soulmates with Edelgard) but really the idea is just super funny.
● Here's a list of some soulmate AUs. These are mostly "how you find your soulmate/how they're connected to you", but some of these could be fun to expand on. "Every time your soulmate lies, their words are written on you." Holy shit please imagine how funny that would be. I also like the idea of gaining access to some sort of power or something (either from the soulmate or because of the soulmate bond) but idk what exactly to do with that. This could even lead into "using your soulmate for their power but trying not to fall in love" which could be fun!!
● And here's some more! In particular I like "You have a tattoo that changes color depending on what your soulmate is feeling." or "You share a dream with your soulmate when you’re both asleep." (Please imagine someone occasionally having nightmares that are not their own, but are their soulmate's!!) "Everyone has a journal that allows them to write back and forth with their soulmate." or "You will receive the same injuries as your soulmate (unless deadly)." or "You cannot feel pain until you meet/touch your soulmate." though this last one probably needs to be combined with something else to actually find your soulmate, lmao. Lots of good stuff to explore in both these links!
● Wait, I found another one. "Your clock is a countdown of how long you and your soulmate have left to find each other or else you both will die because the universe is sadistic af—and if you find your soulmate you get to live longer." This one would be really fun for those characters who don't want to find their soulmates under most circumstances, lmao. Alternatively, "You can choose to take the pain of your soulmate away. Like if they’re sick or even if they just have a paper cut, you can choose to transfer the pain/sickness to yourself instead and they’ll heal." Also this one, "The Red String of Fate exists, and only some people have the ability to see the strings, and these people can actually cut strings and knot other people’s strings in to alter the soulmate laws. Your best friend’s wedding is tomorrow and they know you can see the string. They ask you to help them defy the laws of the universe and help them be with the person they love even though they know that’s not their soulmate. You know they love each other so much so you help them, even though the person your best friend’s marrying/your best friend is your soulmate." Hahaha what the fuck.
● Reincarnation/timeloops. Basically characters find their soulmate, but for whatever reason, they just cannot be together in this life. One/both of them die (the one who lives gets to live out the rest of their life without their soulmate!!) and eventually they're reborn/things are reset. If reincarnation, this could be in another world/set [x years] in the future/etc and they slowly regain their memories of their past life - if timeloops, then maybe they slowly regain memories of the previous cycle(s). Either way, the point is to try to change things so that maybe this time you can get a happy ending. Yet again I'm thinking about 3H and the war is a great backdrop for this, so that could be fun!!
● For whatever reason, a character simply does not have a soulmate. This would probably work best in a world where soulmates are easier to find (I.E. having a name/mark in a certain place on your skin, etc.) So they're aware they don't have one, but why the hell aren't they allowed to find love, etc. Just dealing with the fallout of that could be fun! Also something something denying the system by falling in love with someone who isn't your soulmate something.
● Recollé AU? (I don't remember the plot though and modern settings are kind of boring imo, but it's the general idea here lmao.) Characters exist within a "game" (setting variable) and live as an AU version of themselves set within that world. Over time, they start regaining memories of their past life/"real" life (their OU memories) and have to decide whether they'll embrace that life or their AU one. Having all sorts of assumed CR here would be really fun! Though of course I love the idea of "we were enemies in one life but now we're friends/dating/etc in this one" so y'know, whatever works!!
● Dumb marriage shit. Arranged marriages are A++ but I've probably mentioned them somewhere in here before, but political marriages? Waking up married after a drunken night of stupidity?? A decaying marriage that they have to work to fix (or break off)?? I love shit like this.
● Where's that "you're locked in a room until you ____" meme, because pretend I linked that one here too. Pretty sure we've mentioned that one before but whatever, I love it.
● I definitely wanna write some more nsfw with you since I need the practice and it's so much fun with our disasters!! It could be fun to generate a kink (or two) and randomize some characters until we get something that can kind of work and see how to MAKE it work lmao!!

● Divine Pulse fuckery: basically a character (or maybe both of them) remember the events of the previous timeline (for some reason). They try to save their friends, it goes poorly. This could be HORRIBLE if we let Hubert remember, but went back to the beginning and had Lin join a different class/Byleth goes church route!!! Horrible. How could I ever suggest such a mean thing. Alternatively we could just write Byleth out and give the Divine Pulse to someone else/make up whatever we want!!
● House Swap: Basically move the characters around to be in other houses and see how that plays out! This could also be lord swapping or retainer swapping, or we can leave those the same and just mess around with anyone else - basically seeing where character dynamics go if everything's completely different!!
● EVERYONE LIVES: Find a way to make it so the war can be ended peacefully and everyone lives and how they deal with each other afterwards!! I don't really have any plot ideas for this one but LET THEM LIVE!!!
● Arranged Marriage: We have a group full of royals/nobles and where the fuck are my arranged marriages??? I live for two people who don't know each other/hate each other slowly growing to love each other, give me that shit!!! This could also be a good background for other ships, like one of them's supposed to be married to someone else but their true love!!!! You know me, I'm all about that sappy shit.
● More of a specific thing, but what if you could recruit the retainers/what if Hubert switches sides. I know this sounds completely impossible, but hear me out: Hubert will always do what's best for Edelgard, even if she wouldn't like it, so what if he ditches her because what's best for her is to have this war stopped/her spared? IT COULD WORK. This doesn't have to be Hubert/Edelgard or anything, it can be played out with anyone on one of the other routes but c'mon it'd be interesting!!

I'm especially fond of foreign princes/princesses hanging out with 3H characters (give me the forbidden Berkut cr) but we could do all sorts of things here! This doesn't necessarily just have to be Fire Emblems of course, but listen I love me some FEs.
● A proper AU and shoving characters into 3H's canon. So like... Camilla as the daughter of a terrible lord in the Empire and as a student in the Black Eagles house, how that would change her and how she'd be impacted by all of that/who she'd be in this world, etc! Exploring what kind of relationships people would have there would be a lot of fun!!
● Or we could go the opposite way and shove 3H characters into other Fire Emblems!! Who doesn't want a Fates AU, right??? (I just had the horrifying realization that Hubert and Iago are entirely too similar and that's terrible, please take this cursed knowledge from me.) Or an Awakening AU, or something else entirely!!

Well what if we reverse that - the characters we're shipping aren't soulmates and they're trying to make it in this world where their "real" partner is out there somewhere?? There could be all sorts of drama with this, it could be a lot of fun! (Bonus points for playing the other characters' soulmates?? So like if you're A and I'm B, then you'd play B's soulmate and I'd play A's, though that's obviously not necessary and they can be NPC'd if you're down for that!!)
● Soulmates v3: now it's enemies to lovers. LISTEN... I LOVE THIS TROPE... and dealing with the pressure of "oh you're soulmates, you must love each other!" while they DON'T is just really fucking funny, this would be so dumb. I am absolutely here for it going romantic eventually or just playing around with it being Stupid.
● Hanahaki Disease! You know, that thing where a person coughs up flower petals because of unrequited love. You can either have that removed (along with the feelings) because idk magic, or you can just fuckin die, either are great options!! Or you could confess your feelings and maybe that'd help or something w/e. Anyway, I love this stupid trope and think it could be fun to play around with for a shorter thread, but also consider the following: Claude watching Lorenz hack up flower petals being like "I didn't realize you were eating your roses lmao" and Lorenz just fucking decks him. It'd be perfect. I do not accept criticism on my shitposts.
● Fake dating! Goddamn do I love this trope too. I think we could probably set this up with a noble character trying to escape an arranged marriage or their parents trying to arrange one or something! Basically two characters agree to "date" for whatever reason and then in time end up finding feelings. Kiiinda what we're doing with Dorothea and Hubert already but like, More. ● Role reversal! So I talked about role swap and swapping houses and stuff, but a full on reversal of roles could be really interesting! I guess maybe "background swap" would be more accurate maybe?? ● End of war scenarios. Okay, so for something more serious, basically post-game on any route where characters are dealing with the aftermath and trying to sort themselves out. This could be two characters in the same house/on the same route or it could be like... an AU end where we spared someone and dealing with that. Or what if characters just swapped crests/skills/roles, etc. Exploring a world that places more value on those without crests could be cool, maybe crests are like....... considered cursed or something?? ● Edelich AU!!!! Okay so hear me out: Azure Moon but Edelgard somehow wins except now she's stuck in her Hegemon Husk form!! ● Emperor Linhardt v2: Okay, so I love the idea of Emperor Lin, so here's more of that!! This version is the one where the Hresvelgs all died (Those Who Slither fucked up their experiments too much, whoops) and so the next closest in line is the one who gets the throne. Duke Aegir totally thinks it's him or Ferdinand, but uh. Turns out it's Linhardt of all goddamn people. So Linhardt is shipped off to Enbarr to learn how to be the next emperor!! I was thinking of this setup with Lin as a kid and his parents are busy taking care of Hevring/dealing with Duke Aegir, so Lin more or less has to rely on Hubert as his retainer/support but we can absolutely mess around with other ideas! Please imagine Lin and Caspar meeting up eventually after years of not seeing each other...
● Emperor Linhardt v3: The Hevrings are the royal family in this one and the Hresvelgs are rivals with the Bergliez family. Linhardt really doesn't want to be emperor, so at some point he just. ditches. Probably after spending time at the Officers Academy or at the tail end of it, so he doesn't even graduate... Anyway, he's used to being treated like a prince, so roughing it is not exactly his idea of a good time, but now he's free to do what he wants and research what he wants and nap when he wants!! He could drag Hubert along with him or he could go off on adventures with someone else while Hubert takes over the Empire in the background (likely with Edelgard or someone else) but that's not Linhardt's problem now!! (Lin, no.)
● More Jeritza ships!!!! In particular I'm thinking about Jeritza/Yuri and Jeritza/Felix and boy do those sound hilarious and terrible. Please also consider Jeritza doing his best to be an actual teacher... it goes Poorly but somehow Felix has decided he's his favorite teacher. Alternatively: Jeritza is put in charge of the Ashen Wolves. Terrible. Jeritza/Kronya would be terrible too and I'm losing it at the idea of crosscanon Jeritza ships as well........ I love this terrible man.
● I want to do some kind of stupid angsty meetup years later thing!! Like two characters get together during their time at the monastery, but can't be together for ~reasons~. So they agree to break up and then either the war breaks out or we golden end au where there is no war (somehow) and they still have to separate. Flash forward to years later when they meet up again and oh no, turns out they still have feelings!!!!! What will they do!!!!!! I'm also down for drama like "one of them is engaged to someone else in an arranged marriage" or something. Basically give me all the delicious drama and pining and stupid shit. It'd be the four year timeskip all over again except this time it's intentional and also less dumb (probably)!

Okay, so this one is not by me, but it's got some fun concepts I think we could explore! Here's the full link but it's a lot of text and tbh I didn't even read the full thing. So here's the abridged version that I think works better!
So the basics:
● Those Who Slither step up as villains early. They basically blame everything (including the Flame Emperor) on Edelgard and more or less strip her of any and all power. She's still at the monastery so that the Church can keep an eye on her. (Hubert's here too, I guess!!!) Her dad is executed and what little power the Hresvelgs had left is stolen, Duke Aegir's essentially in charge, with the other nobles (Hevring, Bergliez, Vestra, Varley, etc) all supporting him and ditching Edelgard.
● Dimitri confronts Edelgard about the Flame Emperor and her role in the Tragedy of Duscur. She tells him the truth about everything, and reveals what she knows about Those Who Slither and the Church. Dimitri wants to believe her, but he's definitely keeping an eye on her.
● The Empire is still involved in invading the Holy Tomb, but it's obviously Those Who Slither commanding them. Rhea's pissed and blames Edelgard for this, calling for her execution. Edelgard's also pissed and comes out with all her accusations against Rhea, revealing everything she knows about her. Claude backs her up, demanding to know the truths that Rhea's been keeping hidden. Dimitri likewise wants answers for what Edelgard's told him about Those Who Slither. Rhea doesn't care about these accusations, but Byleth refuses to kill Edelgard and instead demands answers for who/what they are from Rhea as well.
● So while Rhea hates Edelgard and Edelgard hates Rhea, they basically decide that Those Who Slither are the bigger threat here and everyone agrees to work together. Those Who Slither have already managed to pull together the Empire's army and invade Garreg Mach, which results in Byleth falling off the cliff and the timeskip.
● Five years later, Edelgard and the Black Eagles have been on the run. They've been trying to put up resistance to Those Who Slither, but ultimately they can't do much on their own. Dimitri's gone feral and wants Arundel/Thales dead and the rest of the Blue Lions are trying to keep Cornelia from taking over Faerghus. The Golden Deer are dealing with fractures within the Alliance and trying to keep things stable and prevent the Empire from taking over. The members of the Church are searching for Rhea, who went missing during the battle five years ago (and is being held captive by Those Who Slither in Enbarr).
● They all meet up on the day of the Millennium Festival, some by chance and others on purpose, and Byleth is here now so Byleth more or less serves as the glue holding these different groups together. They don't really trust each other, but they all agree that the biggest threat is still Those Who Slither, so they're willing to work together. It's basically "they all team up to punch Those Who Slither a lot" but hey, it works!!

● Obviously this setup is perfect for cross-house interactions that wouldn't otherwise be present/super easy to set up! So pick two characters and figure out how they're dealing with all of this/what they're doing during the timeskip, etc. A lot of the non-nobles (or less important nobles) can easily be hanging out with the Black Eagles on the run, or maybe the Black Eagles take shelter with someone in the Alliance/Kingdom for a time? The possibilities are endless!!
● I personally love the idea of the Black Eagles on the run, so exploring their relationships as this goes on could be great! They could even separate into smaller groups so it's easier for them to move/not be caught by Those Who Slither. Perhaps some of them go into hiding and live in the Alliance/Kingdom for awhile under assumed names or something! (Obviously that doesn't work for all of them, though.)
● There's a lot of fun stuff to play out here with the house leaders, either with each other or with students from other houses, etc!! How do Yuri and the Ashen Wolves fit in here?? There's a lot we can mess around with!
● A lot of this has been focused on post-timeskip (or during the timeskip) and that's super fun! But I'm also so fascinated with Edelgard during pre-timeskip in this AU, so it could be fun to mess around with her there too!
● The actual Golden End... in which everyone lives and things are kinda sorta chill between all three territories and the Church... Good stuff. I'm always here for a good ending like that!! But obviously we can find some more drama to include because that's fun too lmao.
This is just an idea of course, and I'm 100% here to change things about it to make things work better for whatever we need! But man, this is a pretty good way to create a golden end and I had to share it!!

● Lif/Hubert. Literally anything involving these two or Alfonse/Hubert - the idea that the post-timeskip and skellyjelly versions meeting up and actually having to discuss shit and deal with it is A++ but I'm also a sucker for them being cute and having a slowly-developing relationship... Maybe the younger versions are doing that in the background while post-timeskip Hubert and Lif are over there like "what the fuck".
● So we've got plenty of ideas in FEH, but what if we do the opposite and drag characters into the other Fire Emblems somehow. Fates has the deeprealms, Awakening has the outrealms, and Three Houses..... has that weird amiibo gazebo clearly that's the same thing??? Basically just yeet some other Fire Emblems into these worlds and see how that goes, I'm sure that'll be fine (no).
● Aela is not a Fire Emblem, but consider her being summoned to Askr and either fighting against Lif, or idk being summoned in on his side somehow. Werewolf skellyjelly-- no. Maybe they slowly regain their memories of murdergame or something??
● Okay this one's a little more involved, but hear me out. Linhardt is basically told by (idk Caspar??) someone he's close to that he doesn't "understand" love and he's not going to, and this essentially ends in them betting that Linhardt can't make someone fall in love with him in [x amount of time]. Linhardt takes the challenge for whatever reason. This results in him trying learn from various couples and talking to people about love aaaaand ultimately realizing that there's no way he's going to manage all the research he needs done AND end up with a date by the time limit. So he does the next best thing: he takes the lazy way out. He convinces someone else to "date" him and thus starts the stupidest fake dating ever, complete with Linhardt's "research" results and his "partner's" own lack of knowledge. It goes stupidly. Maybe romance falls out somehow?? I was imagining this set in Askr, but pre- or post-timeskip works too!!

● Sothis is the protag of 3H: Okay, so we briefly discussed this one, but instead of Byleth, we've got Sothis in their place. I'm not entirely sure how this happens, but I love the idea of Jeralt finding amnesiac Sothis and just kinda-sorta adopting her which leads into canon as normal. Rhea takes her on as a teacher because green hair?? Pointy ears??? That's Weird. She's totally not one of us though??? So Rhea is suspicious, Sothis is regaining her memories and also teaching one of the classes and this is just a disaster waiting to happen. I'd be down for flinging anyone at her here, I don't have anything specific in mind beyond that!
● Jeritza/Byleth: I figure we could take either side of this (or swap, since I think you mentioned you might consider Byleth too?) but basically just going wild with these two either in canon/Crimson Flower end or just making shit up as we go. Murdergame AU? Jamjar AU? Who knows!!!
● We have a bunch of absolutely shitty people who really love violence so... Peri/Zagi, Peri/Jeritza, Jeritza/Zagi, toss Metodey and Kronya somewhere in there.... there are undoubtedly others........ Disaster ships is what I'm saying. Just yeet some goddamn disasters out there and see what happens.
● Oh yeah also if you're ever down to try out Peri/Laslow I'd be down to pick him up and give that a shot? They cute.
● Operation: Get Cordelia A Nice Partner Who Isn't Chrom. Your Cordelia was really fun, so if you're ever looking to take her out for a spin again I'm always down to work something out! If I get around to reviewing Awakening again, I can see who I want to play there, but crosscanon definitely works as well, of course!

● Jamjar style. Characters are brought into whatever kind of setting we want and are revealed to be able to find their soulmate here. Chaos ensues. We could absolutely play this straight by slapping any two characters together and dealing with the fallout (characters from the same canon who shouldn't/can't be soulmates, characters who hate each other, characters who were in love but wouldn't express it, etc) or we could go with the idea that characters just straight up reject their soulmate and end up with someone else, etc. A jamjar could add some interesting dynamics to characters from the same canon, or could just be a good background for characters from a different one. Other things to consider: it's a dating gameshow thing where the goal is to find your soulmate and then you win, etc!!
● Enemies/rivals-to-soulmates. Characters who strongly dislike/hate each other end up being revealed as soulmates. Whoops?? How the hell did fate/whatever manage to get this so wrong?? Once again, playing it straight or just having it a hurdle to overcome is fun, but you know I love some enemies-to-lovers.
● The world/society really loves soulmates. In fact, they love them so much that it's considered taboo to not end up with your soulmate, regardless of how compatible the two of you really are. Cue shenanigans that happen in response to some really weird/bad/stupid matchups. I'll admit I was specifically thinking 3H with this one because of how damn funny this would be coupled with the huge emphasis on Crests and nobility and the like and how that would play into various characters' relationships. Another thing to consider: characters who are soulmates need to IMMEDIATELY get married. Kind of like a horrible mashup between "waking up married" and "arranged marriage" and ultimately ends in stupidity.
● For whatever reason, characters A and B are faking that they're soulmates. They have absolutely everyone fooled believing this. Character C then ends up accidentally finding out that they're B's soulmate. Cue C freaking out about this/wondering how the hell this is possible while B is just like really. I was imagining Hubert and Edelgard for pretending to be soulmates (so as to keep people from trying to mess with their plans/determining if they're soulmates with Edelgard) but really the idea is just super funny.
● Here's a list of some soulmate AUs. These are mostly "how you find your soulmate/how they're connected to you", but some of these could be fun to expand on. "Every time your soulmate lies, their words are written on you." Holy shit please imagine how funny that would be. I also like the idea of gaining access to some sort of power or something (either from the soulmate or because of the soulmate bond) but idk what exactly to do with that. This could even lead into "using your soulmate for their power but trying not to fall in love" which could be fun!!
● And here's some more! In particular I like "You have a tattoo that changes color depending on what your soulmate is feeling." or "You share a dream with your soulmate when you’re both asleep." (Please imagine someone occasionally having nightmares that are not their own, but are their soulmate's!!) "Everyone has a journal that allows them to write back and forth with their soulmate." or "You will receive the same injuries as your soulmate (unless deadly)." or "You cannot feel pain until you meet/touch your soulmate." though this last one probably needs to be combined with something else to actually find your soulmate, lmao. Lots of good stuff to explore in both these links!
● Wait, I found another one. "Your clock is a countdown of how long you and your soulmate have left to find each other or else you both will die because the universe is sadistic af—and if you find your soulmate you get to live longer." This one would be really fun for those characters who don't want to find their soulmates under most circumstances, lmao. Alternatively, "You can choose to take the pain of your soulmate away. Like if they’re sick or even if they just have a paper cut, you can choose to transfer the pain/sickness to yourself instead and they’ll heal." Also this one, "The Red String of Fate exists, and only some people have the ability to see the strings, and these people can actually cut strings and knot other people’s strings in to alter the soulmate laws. ● Reincarnation/timeloops. Basically characters find their soulmate, but for whatever reason, they just cannot be together in this life. One/both of them die (the one who lives gets to live out the rest of their life without their soulmate!!) and eventually they're reborn/things are reset. If reincarnation, this could be in another world/set [x years] in the future/etc and they slowly regain their memories of their past life - if timeloops, then maybe they slowly regain memories of the previous cycle(s). Either way, the point is to try to change things so that maybe this time you can get a happy ending. Yet again I'm thinking about 3H and the war is a great backdrop for this, so that could be fun!!
● For whatever reason, a character simply does not have a soulmate. This would probably work best in a world where soulmates are easier to find (I.E. having a name/mark in a certain place on your skin, etc.) So they're aware they don't have one, but why the hell aren't they allowed to find love, etc. Just dealing with the fallout of that could be fun! Also something something denying the system by falling in love with someone who isn't your soulmate something.

● Dumb marriage shit. Arranged marriages are A++ but I've probably mentioned them somewhere in here before, but political marriages? Waking up married after a drunken night of stupidity?? A decaying marriage that they have to work to fix (or break off)?? I love shit like this.
