[Kagura wakes, and finds herself wanting to sink back to sleep; this is perhaps the most freedom she's been offered in quite some time. Freedom, unbound from cycle and cycle of agony that has been asked of her, unbound from meting judgment upon the sinners that roam the world. Upon Reapers who haven't learned their place. It's strange to wake almost blissful for once, and she's tempted to sleep just a little longer. This kidnapping experience is quite cushy, for what she can only assume is retribution against her.
Kagura does end up waking, though, her body just a little too used to the rhythm she's had to keep for the ones she works for. She might as well see what's going on; this is bound to be quite different from the many cycles she's been forced through.
How cute.
Kagura leaves her spartan accommodations and ventures outside, regarding the people around her with a dull curiosity. No one she recognizes. She can't tell if that's a good thing or a bad thing; her partner isn't here with her, either. Though she lacks power and doesn't cut quite the same figure she had in the past, it's enough for her to slip by mostly unnoticed as she enters the foyer, looking at each profile with that same dull eyed, placid glance that seems to be a cornerstone of her personality.
Of course, her profile paints an interesting picture.]
Name: Kagura Minaguchi | Enemy of Humanity Age: 22. (?) | Height: 5'11". | Weight: Less than you'd think. Species: Human. (?) | Occupation: Reaper. Likes: Family, justice, grayscale, spicy foods. Dislikes: Admirers, "admirers", paralysis, most people. Traits: Placid, gentle, guiding, ruthless. Trivia: Kagura trains fledgling Reapers, hoping for them to realize their potential; most consider her like a big sister.
...Curiouser and curiouser, indeed. [Her voice has a strange rasp to it when she speaks--her voice carries softly, though with a labored, rough quality to it that seems the slightest bit off.] Now where exactly did you obtain this sort of information...?
[But ah, it seems someone is speaking to her. When Kagura turns to face him and look down at Amaranthe, she regards him with a sort of detached curiosity, light not quite finding it's way into her eyes but her expression attempting to be kind despite it all.]
None at all, none at all indeed. It truly feels like we've been disconnected from the world at large like this. [Her head cants slightly to the side.] It's a curious thing. Why they would need to ensnare us in such a way...
[Kagura fiddles with some of the (many, many) bandages on her, ensuring they stay on nice and tight. At least they didn't take those...that'd be a disaster to explain.]
...And what of you? Have you observed anything interesting thus far, sir...?
[Light blue eyes dart back over to the profiles, picking Kagura's out among the others. A truly beautiful woman, but her profile raises several questions. "Enemy of Humanity"? Quite the title. Not that it really matters to him, since he's hardly human.
His attention returns to her quickly, as though he wasn't looking over her info.]
Oh please, just Amaranthe is fine. "Sir" is more befitting of someone like my grandfather.
[He smiles, light and charming, an expression practiced and poised. His eyes trail over her bandages and silently he wonders if she was injured... but then, they don't look as though anything beneath them is bleeding. Yet, anyway. Perhaps she just changed them.]
I assume you also took note of these. [He gestures to the profiles, as though he didn't overhear her commenting on them.] It's rather odd they've managed to obtain so much information about all of us, isn't it?
[His own burning questions about her information go unasked. It wouldn't do to pry and start making enemies, after all.]
There's also some strange dark magic covering the door; it seems that escape is impossible, at least from this room.
Ah, I see...Amaranthe, then. A pleasure, despite the circumstances.
[Her gaze watches him with dull interest, though the smile hasn't faded from her face in the slightest; it almost feels slightly analytical, as if taking in everything she can about him.]
I have, indeed. I had wondered if these profiles were merely conjecture placed here to spread falsehood and discord amongst our group, but it would seem in talking to others, that there lie certain accuracies within them...
Strange. Strange, indeed. [Kagura's head tilts curiously at Amaranthe, as she looks at him still.] The dark magic is...almost something I recognize; some Reapers utilize something similar to it, yet it is so very different than what I am used to...
What do you make of all of this so far, if I may? Have you had much of a chance to talk to others...?
