They're off immediately, with Edelgard and Hubert giving orders and working together seamlessly. Linhardt and Caspar are difficult enough to work around, but Edelgard doesn't seem to have any issues adjusting to them and maneuvering on the fly. She's not only able to lead, but to fight, and as expected, she's exceptional. Her strength is amazing to behold, especially when she no longer has to hold back like she does during training. Lorenz could probably get distracted with watching her, but he doesn't allow it; he's focused on keeping himself alive and looking out for the others, at the very least.
His fighting style isn't quite as efficient as Edelgard's. He's still learning how to manage fighting on horseback and using magic, so results are a little bit less effective than he'd like. Still, he's got range that Edelgard doesn't, and maneuverability that the mages lack. Being able to hit with both lance and magic gives him a lot more options, and perhaps most importantly, the height gives him a better view of the battlefield.]
