[Things have been going smoothly these past few months. Sure, "smoothly" may not be the best way to put it when Flayn was kidnapped, students were sent to quell an uprising against the church, and obtain a Hero's Relic from a disowned heir, but they've all been progressing nicely. Lorenz is starting to fit in a bit better with his fellow classmates, and his studies are enthralling. His search for a future wife has been... less than stellar, and Professor Byleth has already asked him to knock it off (though that was surely just the professor getting taken in by one of Claude's schemes), but aside from that everything seems to be going well.
At least it was, until today. Saving merchants from a horrifying beast would have been a bit draining on its own, but it was what happened afterward that has Lorenz reeling.
Could his father really have done such terrible things? His father, the man he's looked up to and tried to emulate? He doesn't always see eye-to-eye with the man, certainly, but still...
Lorenz has been holed up in his room since they returned, unwilling to see anyone. Claude was the only one who came by today, and he didn't even have the energy to snap at him as usual. Claude had eventually left though, perhaps believing that Lorenz needed his space, just as everyone else presumably did.
He's not surprised to hear the knock and Camilla's voice - he knew she'd be by at some point. She's likely been busy, otherwise she certainly would have come to check on him sooner. It takes a moment, but eventually Lorenz opens the door and steps back to allow her to enter.
Overall he still looks put-together; his hair's a bit messier than usual, like he's been running his fingers through it frequently, but he at least looks presentable which is important. He doesn't look like he's been crying either, although his expression is fairly blank for once.]
Thank you for your assistance, Camilla.
[He doesn't make any attempt to shoo her out even once she's inside the room and deposited the tray on the table. It takes him a moment to decide on what to do from there.]
You may... stay if you're so inclined.
[It's a bit awkward, a bit hesitant, like he's not really sure that's what he wants to say. In truth, he's not really sure that's what he wants, but he does want to shut his brain off for a little while. He hasn't eaten since they've returned and he does need to keep up his strength... but more importantly, the tea is nice. And the company, of course; she's the reason he opened the door at all.]
