[Neo nods at that; Sonic's confidence is certainly appreciated because his own is rather lacking. He knows Sonic's fighting style better than anyone else so he should be able to replicate it as needed, but perhaps they should have sought out weaker enemies to test themselves on first... Oh well. No point in thinking about that now.
Sonic charges in to grab the beast's attention, and Neo charges a spin dash to come sailing in, striking a hard kick into its side. Unfortunately, the attack really doesn't hit like any of Neo's own would - that's the disadvantage of being in a fleshy body, you really do not hit as hard as a metal one. Sonic's homing attacks do better damage though, and those are thankfully easy enough to pull off even with just his memories of his rival's moveset to draw on.
Still, Neo is mindful of where the thing's attention lies. He moves to put some distance between himself and it to ensure that its eyes are on Sonic, and he waits for the perfect opening.]
