It makes sense--it's like waiting for his opponent's to grow stronger, adapting to the changes and making up new strategies on the fly. It makes complete sense to Sonic, at least, and he nods his head at Neo.]

[And with blasters at the ready, Sonic is off--the monster is quick to respond by sending a blast of ice in his direction, but he dodges it easily as he spindashes into action around the monster, beginning to strike at it properly and waiting for Neo to join the fray. It's certainly not a slow and lumbering creature in the slightest at least, so Sonic's perfectly entertained for now and tries to do his best to confuse the monster.
