[Sonic wants to keep running. He hasn't been slacking by any means, but even Sonic has a point that he can get tired in the face of racing against his feelings. Avoiding them, wanting to shove them away somewhere where they can't be at the forefront, where he doesn't have to actually think about what they are, but Sonic knows he's flagging. He's going to end up exhausting himself at this rate and it's going to be humiliating to explain to anyone he knows. He's giving some serious consideration to just living out in the woods again but...
Neo's voice once again brings Sonic back into reality, and anxiety spikes again because Neo absolutely has enough energy to spare. He's absolutely in trouble.]

[Sonic makes the frankly stupid (though likely safest) decision to turn around and face Neo, and Neo succeeds in tackling Sonic into the snow. It's a little painful, but losing like this--losing for real, it stings a little bit. He really should've actually taken care of himself sooner, he'd have won this without missing a beat otherwise.
But worse still are the thoughts that Neo picks up as Sonic opens his eyes, gaze averting a bit.
